Superhero Comic Book Party Invitation with Free Printable by My Paper Craze

So, as promised, we have free themed printables all week for your enjoyment!  Today, we bring you our fabluous… Superhero Comic Book Printable Banner!  Yippee!  So what is a printable banner, you ask?  It’s exactly what it sounds like… kinda, lol.  So, a few weeks ago we created this fabulous banner for a friend’s son’s birthday party…

Superhero Comic Book Printable Banner by My Paper Craze

And we loved it so much, we wanted to share it with you!  But how do we do that since this one is customized for Grayson?  We’ve created download files for each character in ALL LETTERS (this part has been updated since the original post)!

Batman | Robin | Flash | Spiderman

Captain America | Green Lantern | Superman

Hulk (not custom) | Wonder Woman (numbers)

Once you’ve downloaded the tiles you need, let’s proceed on how to put the banner together.  As you can see from the image above, the tiles are designed for individual letters.  After you print them out, trim off the excess white cardstock.  You can layer them on additional cardstock, but I haven’t found that to be necessary since these have a border on the design already.  To turn tiles into a banner, you’ll need a good length of ribbon or some other similar cordage to link them together.  Break out the hot glue gun and glue the ribbon to the back of the tiles (careful, it’s a little hard on the fingers!).  Don’t worry about the mess, no one sees the back anyways.  But yes, it’s really that easy.  Place a dab of hot glue on the back of the tile, put the ribbon in place and let it dry.  Try to space the tiles as evenly as possible.  If you are concerned about the durability of just one point of glue, use two (one on each side).  {BAM} Instant banner.

So did this project live up to all the hype?  I sure hope so!  Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for more SUPERHERO fun and free party printables!  Here’s another sneak peek!

How exactly do i get the letter to go behind the designs like you have? I keep trying and cannot seem to get it! please help 🙂

    1. Becky Dykes (Post author)

Hi Kira! I’m sorry for the frustration, the files I uploaded only show the letter on top. If you want to send me the name you want on the banner, I’d be more than happy to do one up for you! You can email me at or message me on Facebook!

  7. Susan Combs

I have had absolutely no luck in making a banner. I can’t even get Microsoft word to recognize it. Is there a trick to it?

    1. Becky Dykes (Post author)

Hi Susan, there’s no special trick, just downloading the images. For MS Word, you can always try downloading the images and importing them into a new document. Feel free to email me for more detailed instruction if this doesn’t help. I sure don’t want you to get frustrated with the banner!

  8. Monica Santoso

Hi Becky, Thanks a lot for sharing the veryy cool superhero banner. I have downloaded it to a microsoft word, but I cant really put the super artwork to the front of the letter, can you give me some tips on how to do it? *help*

    1. Becky Dykes (Post author)

Hey Monica! I responded to your email with a link to personalize the banner, but also wanted everyone to know that I’ve updated the downloads in this series to be more friendly. All letters are now available by character in the download files, so just click on the link and print the one you need! Thanks for the feedback, we always want to make things as easy as possible!

  9. Dina

Hi, do you have a PDF for the water labels?

    1. Becky Dykes (Post author)

Sorry for the delay Dina! Here’s the link to the other party printables!

  10. Julie

this is so awesome!! just what I was looking for. Thanks so much for sharing!

  11. Andrea

How do I customize a banner. I am trying to make a banner I can take to an office supply store to print as I don’t have a printer. Any suggestions?

    1. Becky Dykes (Post author)

Hi Andrea! I would suggest downloading the files, then separating the ones that you actually need. For example, the PDF document (once saved to your computer) should allow you to delete pages. Feel free to email me if you still nee help, we’ll figure it out!

  12. Rebekah

I LOVE this banner but when I tried downloading the files my computer blocked the Robin, Flash, Spiderman, Green Lantern, Hulk and Wonder Woman files stating that they are unsafe to download. I was only able to download Batman, Captain America and Superman. Any ideas as to what is wrong?

    1. Becky Dykes (Post author)

Hi Rebekah, I’m not sure why your computer would flag these unless it’s something with your personal security settings. Sorry I can’t be more help!

  13. Rachel

Hi Rebekah! I am doing a superhero party for my 3 yr. old son and 5 yr. old daughter. My son loves spiderman and my daughter loves wonder woman. Do you by any chance have letters for wonder woman? I wanted to make a sign with both of their favorite characters. Thank you!

  14. Rachel

Hi Becky! I’m doing a super hero party for my son and daughter. I was wondering if you have posters with wonder woman letters, not just the numbers? I would really like to make a custom banner for both kids. Thank you!
