I knew immediately which cutting files I wanted to use.  The Cookout Cutting Files by Lisa at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons actually has 12 adorable files, but I only used 5 of them for this project.  If you haven’t already, you need to check out her Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons store and FYI — she posts a freebie every Friday that’s available for the week!

  • Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Cookout Cutting Files #CF0131
  • Silhouette Printable Magnet Paper
  • Printer
  • Silhouette cutting machine

My Save The Date Magnet didn’t require many details since most of our family celebrations are either at my house or a local restaurant.  I imported my PPPR files into Silhouette Studio and as I opened each one, I selected “no cut” in the Cut Style Window.  I layered my shapes to get the look I wanted and grouped them together.  I then typed my text and placed it on my grill shape and again made sure I selected “no cut”.  To create one cut line for the outer edge of the entire grouping I selected “offset”  in the Offset Window and set the offset distance to 0.000 inches.  I then clicked “cut” in the Cut Style Window, set my cut line color to “none”, and grouped the new cut line with my grill image.  To finish up, I simply printed my design on the Silhouette Printable Magnet Paper and cut it with my Silhouette cutting machine.  And… TA-DA!

It just doesn’t get any easier than this.  I LOVE the print & cut feature.  I’m so happy with my magnets and can’t wait to put them in the mail!  Now it’s your turn.  Show us what you’re working on.  It can be any type of crafty project as long as it follows the theme!
